Egham Museum enters the international Museum Dance Off competition
VOTE FOR US ON WEDNESDAY 26th APRIL: more details will be posted on www.whenyouworkatamuseum.com.
Here at Egham Museum, in between caring for the collection, planning projects and exhibitions, working with the community, and sharing the stories of our historic town and surrounding areas, we like to indulge in a spot of dancing. And what better time to do so than as part of the international Museum Dance Off competition.
Museum Dance Off is run by the team at ‘When You Work At A Museum‘, a US based blog that shares posts that takes a light-hearted and humorous look at what it is like to work in museums. Each year, the Dance Off has a theme, and this year it is ‘A New Hope’. Joining forces with Strode’s Sixth Form College, we’ve chosen a dance remix of The Beatles’ Here Comes The Sun.
Take a look…
With huge thanks to dance tutor Eleanor, our Strode’s dancers Adam and Megan, representing Egham Museum, Ellen and Sarah, and director cameraman and editor, Bill. We had lots of fun filming it, and we hope you enjoy watching it.
But don’t forget, this is an international competition and we want to make Egham, Surrey and the UK proud. Voting begins on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 8:00 am EDT where museums will compete in regional rounds. The winners of the regional rounds will go on to compete in the final Thunderdome Round.
