The National Egg Collection
We worked with facilitators Jenny Lockyer and Matt Foster, and the children at Egham Hythe Community Primary School to create this short film which tells some of the stories from Egham in the First World War.
Egham, like many small towns, was impacted by the First World War in a variety of ways. From munitions workers to nurses, women often stepped up into new roles while their brothers, husbands, fathers and uncles were away in the trenches. Our Women at War project aims to shed some light on these stories.
This film tells the story of the National Egg Collection and the Princess Military Christian Hospital, which is just one of the stories uncovered by our research.
